I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria, where I obtained a Masters degree in Physics in 1995. A few years later I moved to Japan to work on a Doctorate. After graduating with a PhD from Nagoya University I took a job with the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, which brought me to the US in 2003. I enjoyed my stay there - it is really exciting to have those cold temperatures in the winter and those never ending days in the summer. I think the mosquitoes were a little bit too much, though, so I was excited to move to the Tri-cities for my next work project. My family fell in love with the area so when it was time for me to move following a job, we decided to stay instead and to explore new opportunities. This is how I discovered my passion for teaching and tutoring and have been enjoying working with students ever since.

EDUCATION
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
CORAM DEO ACADEMY
I taught at Coram Deo Academy (Algebra and Pre-Calculus) between 2009 and 2015. I loved working there so much that once they opened their K-12 Classical School I signed my kindergartner first thing.

GATHER 4 HIM CHRISTIAN COLLEGE
I joined G4HCC at 2012 and have been working there ever since. I am currently serving as a Head and Faculty and tech variety of Math and Science classes.
Gather 4 Him College was founded in 2007 by Gather4Him ministries. It offers a two-year Associate of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies and has an unique opportunity to reach the community for Christ by motivating and equipping young adults through their college education, seeking God and living that in a practicum experience. I would highly recommend the college to any student who is seeking personal fulfillment and desires to strengthen their walk with Christ. Some of the advantages of the college are:
For me teaching at G4HCC was a "dream come true" since starting a Christian College in the Tri-Cities has been on my "to-do" list for a few years. I love working there and I am inspired to fulfill my purpose. I am devoted to students success and enjoy seeing my students grow and develop to become the men and women God has created them to be. |

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
TESTIMONIES
I have no words to express my respect for Diana, as a Teacher. David, my son, had been struggling with his math courses up until he worked with her, which changed everything for the better. Diana successfully tapped in his learning style, while he learned math and she assisted him in preparing for his SAT. David today, with the help of Diana, has passed all of his math requirements and has a strong SAT score! Diana, thank you so much for being a tremendous blessing to our family!

Diana is a marvelous tutor. My son was stuck in Chemistry 101 at college. A few weeks tutoring with Diana unlocked everything for him, and he was able to go on and whiz through things like organic chemistry. He is now in grad school and remembers Mrs. Petty with immense thankfulness.

Diana Petty has been employed by my family for the last six years as a tutor for our son Zak. During that time Diana has made an amazing impact on his school grades as well as his self esteem. Zak was on the verge of failing geometry when we first hired Diana to come to our home to work with him. She immediately began explaining geometry basics to our son in a way he could understand and utilize. She also encouraged him to take responsibility for his own successes or failures and to strive for excellence in everything he does.
Diana is highly respected by Zak and our family. Her willingness to work with our son on areas where he needed additional help has been instrumental in allowing him to not only pass geometry but to take higher level math classes in high school and then to advance to College where he is currently working on his Computer Science degree. She has continued tutoring him through his college math and physics classes with great results. She also helped Zak’s father in his preparation for a test he had to take at work.
